- Seared fish slice2 nos (marinated with lemon juice - 1 tsp, Turmeric powder - 1/3 tsp, Black pepper - 1/2 tsp, Salt - 1/2 tsp for about 1 hour)
- Coconut oil2 tbsp
- Mustard seeds1 tsp
- Green chilies2 nos slit
- Curry leaves6 nos
- Sliced onion1 nos medium
- Ginger garlic paste1 tbsp
- Sliced tomato1 no
- Turmeric powder1 tsp
- Red chili powder1 tsp
- Water200 ml
- Pepper powder1 tbsp
- Tamarind pulp1 tbsp
- Garam masala powder1 tsp
Prepare Fish Moilee Recipe
- Step 1
Heat oil in a pan, fry the marinated fish for 1 min on both sides & keep aside.
- Step 2
Add mustard seeds and fry until the seeds starts crackle.
- Step 3
Add slit green chili & curry leaves. Sauté.
- Step 4
Add sliced onion & ginger garlic paste. Cook till onion turns translucent.
- Step 5
Add tomato, turmeric powder, chili powder & salt, cook for 3-4 mins until the tomato is cooked.
- Step 6
Add coconut milk (thin), fried fish, water & cook for 5-6 mins.
- Step 7
Add tamarind pulp, Thick coconut milk (100ml) & garam Masala, cook for another 2-3 mins.
Serve hot with steamed rice or appam.
