No special occasion is complete without the addition of Pineapple Basundi, a traditional Indian dessert that is made with sweetened milk and Nestlé MILKMAID® condensed milk. The addition of pineapples elevates its flavour, and strikes a perfect balance between tangy and sweet. Don’t forget to garnish with a variety of chopped nuts like almonds, cashews, and pistachios.
- Nestlé MILKMAID® condensed milk1/2 cup (100 g)
- Milk3 cups (450 ml)
- Kesar (saffron)few strands
- Freshly grated pineapple1 cup
- Finely chopped badam (almonds)2 tbsp
- Sugar1 tbsp
- Elaichi (cardamom) powder1 tsp
- Chopped pineapple for garnishing2 tbsp
Prepare Pineapple Basundi
- Step 1
Mix together Nestlé MILKMAID® condensed mil, and milk.
- Step 2
Add the saffron and keep chilled.
- Step 3
Heat the grated pineapple and sugar together. Cook for 5 minutes stirring well.
- Step 4
Cool and mix with the milk mixture.
- Step 5
Add the chopped almonds and cardamom powder mix well and chill.
Serve cold, garnished with the chopped pineapple.
