Prepare Walnut Banana Pie Bars
- Step 1
Preheat the oven to 170 degrees celsius.
- Step 2
For the tart base, combine the icing sugar, and flour in a large bowl and cut in the butter until the mixture resembles a coarse meal. Add the milk and make a smooth dough. Chill for 30 minutes.
- Step 3
Roll the pastry at 4 mm and layer onto a frame or tart and blind bake (with baking beans) for 15 minutes until it is half baked.
- Step 4
For the walnut banana pie filling, whisk the Nestlé MILKMAID® condensed milk, banana puree, salt, and vanilla essence until smooth. Add the broken pieces of walnuts.
- Step 5
Pour in prepared half-baked tart sells and bake until lightly browned for 20-25 minutes. Chill and cut into desired bars.
- Step 6
Blow torch banana slices with sugar and place them over the pie bar.
Serve topped with whipped cream.
